Hugh Smith served with the Toronto Police Service for 30 years; last assigned to Traffic Services, as a Media Relations / Safety Programs officer.

He was assigned to the Toronto Police Training and Education Unit, as a Police Vehicle Operations Instructor, for 15 years, also serving as a Police Constable in uniform patrol for ten years.

Hugh Smith has an abundance of credentials in Driver training, inclusive of bicycles and motorcycles, to high performance police interceptor courses.
Hugh has also received various lifetime achievement awards in traffic safety, recognized by the Ministry of Transportation, and the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police.
