Canada Safety Council – Argo Operator Course
Vaughan Driver Training Centre (VDTC) is pleased to be the premier provider of the Canada Safety Council’s (CSC) Argo Operator Course. The course itself was designed with the input and assistance from Ontario Drive and Gear Ltd. – the Canadian manufacturer of ARGO.
Argo is an off-road vehicle designed to perform many of the tasks that a conventional ATV and UTV does, while also providing an amphibious capability for its operators.
Whether you are planning to use an Argo for recreational or commercial purposes, having the proper knowledge, skills, and attitude drastically decreases the chances of an incident occurring when riding. The CSC Argo Operator Course provides operators with such knowledge, skills, and attitude for successful riding.
Overview
The CSC Argo Operator Course is conducted by a CSC certified instructor that is in good standing with both VDTC and the CSC. The course itself transpires over 2, 7–8-hour days. If companies and/or individuals do request additional time for training in a specific area, we at VDTC are more than happy to accommodate those needs (additional costs may apply).
The course itself provides an in-depth understanding in areas such as:
- Hands-on operation of the vehicle in a variety of riding techniques and strategies (e.g., stopping, turning, emergency stopping, swerving/riding over obstacles, etc.).
- Risk awareness, as well as the importance and relevance of each piece of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- General maintenance information, and the importance of referring to your manufacturer operating manual (M.O.M.).
- Environmental concerns.
- Understanding signs and use of hand signals when riding.
- Understanding local laws and laws related to the operation of an Argo.
- Winching practices (upon request).
