Canada Safety Council – UTV Rider Safety Course
Vaughan Driver Training Centre (VDTC) is pleased to be the premier provider of the Canada Safety Council’s (CSC) UTV Rider Safety Course. We understand that the use of an all-terrain vehicle is important for both recreational and commercial purposes across Canada. As such, the CSC UTV course is tailored to both companies seeking to maintain compliance and best practices amongst employees, and those engaging in off-roading that is non-related to enterprise.
At VDTC we understand that UTV safety is of absolute necessity, especially since it is an ever-increasing market deserving of adopting best practices.
We believe that all Canadians that enjoy the benefits of riding a UTV, either for work and/or play, do deserve to be at par with one another in adopting AND applying the best safety habits that come from taking the CSC ATV Rider Safety Course.
Overview
The CSC UTV course is conducted by a CSC certified instructor that is in good standing with both VDTC and the CSC. The length of the course ranges from 7 – 8 hours. If companies and/or individuals do request additional time for training in a specific area, we at VDTC are more than happy to accommodate those needs (additional costs may apply).
The course itself provides an in-depth understanding in areas such as:
- Rider familiarization of their machine (including a pre-trip inspection) and manufacturer operating manual (M.O.M.).
- The importance and relevance of each piece of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- How to conduct a comprehensive pre-trip inspection of one’s vehicle.
- Environmental concerns.
- Understanding signs and use of hand signals when riding.
- Understanding local laws and laws related to the operation of a UTV.
- In-field techniques in stopping, turning, emergency stopping, swerving/riding over obstacles, etc.
- Winching practices (upon request).
