The in-vehicle assessment training program is tailored to companies who are seeking to maintain a high standard of defensive driving among their staff by evaluating defensive driving skills on a regular basis..

This program provides training for health and safety professionals who are interested in establishing a standard of driver competence within their organizations. It does this by providing both an in-depth prepackaged guideline on how to conduct an assessment, as well as a comprehensive assessment form to evaluate candidates with. Furthermore, candidates of this program will be trained to know how to deliver a successful driving assessment.

*Note: Prerequisite to adopting this program is that person(s) who will be conducting the driving assessments are Canada Safety Council instructors WITH nonexpired certification.

With the in-vehicle assessment training course, companies will be receiving both the training service and product necessitated for effective and consistent driving evaluations.

Vaughan Driver Training Centre (VDTC) is pleased to be the organization that facilitates the training and tools needed with aiding companies adopt an in-house driving assessment program for maintaining quality control of defensive driving standards. Health and safety managers, as well as human resource staff, will find that our product and training services are well-rounded yet flexible enough to seamlessly integrate within the company’s standard operating procedure (SOP). Furthermore, VDTC also provides a cost-effective assessment form that is available on subscription (subject to agreement between VDTC and the interested party).

Objectives

VDTC’s focus is on providing health and safety managers, as well as HR staff, with competent skills in conducting an in-vehicle assessment via practical training session(s) (i.e., “mock training assessment exercises”).

  • Ensure that trainees in the course understand the VDTC guidelines and how to implement them.
  • Know and understand how to correctly conduct an assessment with correct use of the VDTC form.
  • Know and understand how to integrate the assessment program into their company’s SOP.
